Abstract As our society changes, adapting to the current needs of the community, one thing has remained virtually unchanged-the lack of standards of beauty that honor and include women of color. From magazines to music to models we are constantly bombarded with images that don't represent the hues and body types that accurately depict the diaspo-ras of women in our culture. Naively we watch television shows that condition our minds, and it shows in our perceptions of beauty. Those perceptions create impossible standards that women are expected to reach within relationships. While this has been an issue that has been talked about openly in the heterosexual community, it is still a subject that has yet to be broached by lesbian women of color. This poem speaks to the experience of women of color, lesbian or straight, who have been used, rejected or left because they did not fit the \"American\" standard of beauty. It is the beginning of a dialogue that needs to be continued.
In the weakness of temptation, we must avoid dialoguing with the devil, and instead have the courage to pray and to ask forgiveness in order to pick ourselves up and go forward, not to hide from the Lord, but to seek his grace. During Mass at Santa Marta on Friday, Pope Francis provided these essential instructions to confront temptations.

Is India shifting to a nuclear counterforce strategy Continued aggression by Pakistan against India, enabled by Islamabad's nuclear strategy and India's inability to counter it, has prompted the leadership in Delhi to explore more flexible preemptive counterforce options in an attempt to reestablish deterrence. Increasingly, Indian officials are advancing the logic of counterforce targeting, and they have begun to lay out exceptions to India's long-standing no-first-use policy to potentially allow for the preemptive use of nuclear weapons. Simultaneously, India has been acquiring the components that its military would need to launch counterforce strikes. These include a growing number of accurate and responsive nuclear delivery systems, an array of surveillance platforms, and sophisticated missile defenses. Executing a counterforce strike against Pakistan, however, would be exceptionally difficult. Moreover, Pakistan's response to the mere fear that India might be pursuing a counterforce option could generate a dangerous regional arms race and crisis instability. A cycle of escalation would have significant implications not only for South Asia, but also for the broader nuclear landscape if other regional powers were similarly seduced by the temptations of nuclear counterforce.
Is India shifting to a nuclear counterforce strategy The conventional wisdom is that India only reluctantly acquired nuclear weapons and has been a restrained nuclear weapons power that adheres to a no-first-use (NFU) policy and rejects the possibility of nuclear warfighting. Although the empirical record largely bears out its reluctance to acquire nuclear weapons,1 India's continued nuclear restraint is less certain. Specifically, India is developing a suite of capabilities and increasingly making statements about preemption and counterforce that appear inconsistent with its professed strategy of assured retaliation or minimum deterrence.
When Motown left Detroit in 1972 to move to Los Angeles, the Tops stayed. They continued to earn charting singles into the late-1970s. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. Fakir is the only surviving founding member of the original group and is joined by Ronnie McNeir, Lawrence Payton, Jr. and Harold Bonhart.
At the May 25, 2022, General Audience, Pope Francis continued his catechesis on old age, and urged the elderly to hold on to their passion for justice while resisting the temptation to accumulate knowledge without turning it into action.
For this reason, Pope Francis continued, Jesus strongly pleads with his Father to save his disciples from such a worldly spirit. The Christian spirit, on the other hand, the Christian identity, he said, is never egoistic, but always tries to be consistent, avoiding scandal, helping others and showing a good example. 781b155fdc
